Responsibilities:
Serving customers Greet and screen customers for showroom entry Assist customers on floor and manage showroom traffic Schedule customer appointments Maintain a no pressure sales approach while providing the highest level of customer service, care, and knowledge in all interactions Maintain consistent and professional correspondence with customers via phone and text This includes, though is not limited to, answering phone calls, collecting, fielding, and nurturing customer leads, sending reminders at least (1) day prior to delivery, and following up post-delivery Assist customers with special orders Assist customers with all warranty and service claims from start to finish Building product knowledge Keep growing record of all product lines Successfully complete oral and practical evaluations Participate in sales training Maintaining the sales floor Tagging all merchandise Tidying showroom displays Weekly restroom cleaning Daily sanitizing of high touch-points Processing sales orders Writing physical invoices Processing credit card and cash transactions Processing consumer financing applications Assist with the following (pending proficiency training) Processing invoices in Furniture Wizard Marking invoices in Furniture Wizard as delivered Sending Podium reminders to customers, pre-delivery Sending Podium review invites to customers, post-delivery Maintaining a daily, professional code of dress, grooming, and conduct in attitude, speech, and behavior.
TECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS OF THE THE HOME FURNISHINGS CONSULTANT / RETAIL SALES ASSOCIATE:
Possess a valid driver's license with continuous access to a car during working hours Basic math skills Reading, comprehension, and relaying information at a minimum high school level Basic typing ability Professional written and speaking etiquette in all in-person and digital interactions Basic use of Microsoft Word and Excel INTANGIBLE CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS:

Day 1 - Day 44 Product training Sales shadowing Hand-written invoices Basic Furniture Wizard queries Day 45 Performance Review 1 of 2 Day 46 - Day 89 Continue product training Furniture Wizard invoice processing Day 90 Performance Review 2 of 2 Pending successful completion of the mandatory 90-day probation period and proficiency in all required tasks and responsibilities, overall job performance will be addressed at the time of Performance Review 2 of 2.
Yamada Furniture reserves the right to enact additional round(s) of probation should any infractions occur.
The disciplinary policy is as follows:
Infraction #1 - results in a warning and meeting with management team Infraction #2 - results in 30-day probation and performance review upon successful completion Infraction #3 - results in complete termination from the company WORK SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION:
Effective 2024, hours of operation are Tuesday-Saturday from 8am-5pm Starting hourly rate of $17.
