SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The purpose of this position is to act as the Aircraft Mechanic (Crew Chief) with responsibility for managing the operational readiness of one or more aircraft, and proficiency training of supported aviation unit personnel. Manages, monitors or performs overall maintenance, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more highly technical, high performance military aircraft. Requests maintenance services exceeding AASF capabilities or time constraints. Oversees ground movement of aircraft. Incumbent launches, recovers, parks and services aircraft. Ensures Unit Level Logistics-Aviation (ULLS-A) and other aircraft documentation accurately reflects status and airworthiness of assigned aircraft. Clears Red X status symbols on aircraft forms for work performed by others. Plans, develops and conducts proficiency training during the technician work week to a multi-faceted workforce comprised of Full Time Support (FTS) and supported unit personnel. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and support exercises. Experience:
Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications. Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Must have 18 months experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification. Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow. Must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container. Other Requirements - For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license. PHYSICAL EFFORT:
The incumbent is required to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts parts and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing over 50 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS:
The incumbent works inside and outside in inclement weather, on icy or slippery ramps, aircraft surfaces and work stands, and in temperature and humidity extremes and is subject to the danger from exposure to an environment of toxic fumes, high pressure air and fluids, fast actuating metal aircraft surfaces, such as rotor heads, landing gear, explosive munitions, weapons, engine noise, heat, blast, intake suction, fast moving main gear box devices, rotating shafts, cartridge actuating devices, electrical voltage, fire and explosion caused by aircraft fuels, solvents, lubricants, paints and dusts, sharp edges, confined spaces. MILITARY TECHNICIAN COMPATIBILITY POSITION:

1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted only after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Hawaii National Guard. c. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
